The day was established in 2015 by MGA Entertainment to target students to get more involved in these areas of education and study. A particular target is towards women and minorities as these have been historically under-represented in STEM, but with these targeted days and awareness highlighting these factors then the percentage of people in these areas has begun to rise.  

The importance of STEM in education 

Instilling a love of science, technology, engineering and maths into the younger generation and making them engaging and enjoyable will prepare for the next wave of problem solvers and innovators. Nurturing innovation and creativity empowers students to think outside the box and explore and experiment with new ideas. Educational settings should equip pupils with the skills, knowledge and mindset to thrive in the ever-evolving landscape of STEM studies, for future focus on real world problems that these subject tackle such as climate change and sustainability. Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics education plays a pivotal role in shaping a brighter and more sustainable future. 

How STEM is used in marketing 

Marketing is constantly changing and adapting, and incorporating STEM disciplines into campaigns and strategies is critical to staying on current trends. Data driven marketing is used by professionals utilising the fundamentals of science, technology and maths to gain insights into consumer behaviour, preferences and trends to create successful marketing campaigns.
